Office of Sponsored Research & Accounting Reporting

The Office of Sponsored Programs/Research (OSPR) and Financial Reporting - Grants and Research (FRGR) administer programs that are conducted and funded by the following sources:

  • Governmental Agencies, including collaborations with other institutions
  • Associations or Organizations (i.e., American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, etc.)
  • Private Industry (clinical trials, bench research, etc.)

Services provided by OSPR and FRGR include:

  • Assists in identifying potential sponsors
  • Assists with budget development
  • Certifies conflict of interest disclosures
  • Reviews, approves and submits grant proposals
  • Reviews and negotiates agreements/contracts
  • Establishes new project accounts
  • Prepares and issues sub-awards/subcontracts to other entities
  • Serves as liaison with sponsors on behalf of investigators and Rochester Regional Health
  • Prepares financial, effort reporting and budget variance reports
  • Provides an education function to investigators and Rochester Regional team members with respect to sponsored research policy & procedures, opportunities and regulations
  • Recommends, develops, updates and administers policies & procedures with respect to sponsored research
  • Assists with billing management and reporting issues

Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Policy & Procedure for Research Funded by the Public Health Service (PHS)

Any member of the public can contact the Director of the Rochester Regional Health Office of Sponsored Programs/Research for information concerning any Significant Financial Interest (SFI) disclosed to Rochester Regional Health that meets the following three criteria:

  1. The SFI was disclosed and is still held by the senior/key personnel;
  2. Rochester Regional Health determines that the SFI is related to the PHS-funded research and;
  3. Rochester Regional Health determines that the SFI is a FCOI

This information will be made available directly to the requesting individual within five (5) business days of receiving a written request.
