Founded in 1957, the Newark Auxiliary is an assisting organization whose more than 200 members provide services, advocate, educate, and raise funds for the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and DeMay Living Center.
Fundraisers, special events, Gift Shops, along with membership dues, raise the money necessary for large purchases of equipment and renovations in many hospital departments.

The Auxiliary also provides much-appreciated financial assistance, along with supportive gifts, and other specific departmental requests.The Auxiliary also provides smaller, much-appreciated financial assistance providing for phone service, DeMay cable TV, piano tuning, social services to 1 South, the Pastoral Fund and newspapers for patients, in addition to supportive gifts such as Cardiac Rehab tee shirts, holiday poinsettias and other specific departmental requests.
Auxiliary Board members also work with legislators at the State level to educate them on the needs of our hospital. Through both grants and legislation, our hospital and our patients benefit.
The Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary has been awarded the NYS Healthcare Auxiliary Advocacy Award for its support of Newark-Wayne and DeMay, and its great benefit to our community.
